I don't know anything about Numerology.

However, I've always, since I can remember, had an affinity for the number 8.

I see the number everywhere and it has always brought immense luck to me! If the number pops up in my life, I automatically feel a sense of calm and happiness. I know that whatever the number 8 is associated with, it is the "right" thing for me, whatever it may be! (For example, a house number, a classroom number, a student number, a license plate number ... )

Yesterday, my friend Cat (@tarotbobatea) posted a "Life Path Number Calculator" in her instagram stories. This is the first time that I had ever calculated my "Life Path Number" and low and behold, I got the number 8! Chills ran down my spine, and I immediately knew that there had to be something to this ...

@brittas_dotter made a Tik Tok/Instagram Reels video that suggested using Numerology to more easily read the Minor Arcana Number cards in the Tarot. Here is the info she gave in her video (upon further research, I see that she got her information directly from Biddy Tarot ):

Aces: New beginning, Opportunity, Potential

Twos: Balance, Partnership, Duality

Threes: Creativity, Groups, Growth

Fours: Structure, Stability, Manifestation

Fives: Change, Instability (freedom), Conflict

Sixes: Communication, Cooperation, Harmony

Sevens: Reflection, Assessment, Knowledge

Eights: Mastery, Action, Accomplishments

Nines: Fruition, Attainment, Fulfilment

This article, goes even deeper into basic numerology.

In today's blog post, I would like to test these basic principles with the classic meanings of the Minor Arcana number cards! I'm hoping this will make reading those cards a whole lot simpler.

With information from my own practice, Biddy Tarot, Kayoclubhouse Sailor Moon Tarot Deck and the Tarot of the Old Path.

Wands (Fire) Basics:

Hard Work, Basic Work Ethic, Inspiration, Energy, Enthusiasm

"Dealing with the original thought seed in which life brings forth, the suit of wands are associated with primal energy. Inspiration, creativity, intuition and strength. This minor arcana relates to the element of fire. which is hot, wild and unpredictable. You can use the fire to your creative advantage or it can be devastating. There, lies passion, energy and sexuality within the flames in the spiritual level of your consciousness. the wands address your personality, ego and enthusiasm both internally and externally."

Swords (Air) Basics:

Shadow Self, Trauma, Therapy, Communication, Truth, Intellect, Thoughts

"Dealing with the mental level of consciousness, the suit of Swords are centred around the mind, knowledge and intellect. They mirror your quality of mind when thoughts, attitudes and beliefs are present. The double-edged nature that swords are often forged reflect the fine balance between intellect and power and how those two aspects can be used for good or evil. This Minor Arcana is associated with air, an intangible element that remains unseen but also in constant movement. Symbolically, the air element relates to action, power, knowledge and change."

"Dealing with the emotional level of consciousness, the suit of cups are associated with relationships, love, feelings and connections. This minor arcana relates to water as it is a symbol of fluidity. Water has a soft ebb and flow, despite its power - it can be gentle, healing or cleansing just as much as there is a raw power that may lay beneath the surface."

Pentacles/Coins (Earth) Basics:

Wisdom, Enlightenment, Material wealth, Money, Career, Manifestation, Power

"Dealing with the physical or external level of consciousness, the suit of Pentacles will mirror the outer situations of your finances, work, health and creativity. They connect to your surroundings and how you shape, transform and grow. They are associated with your self esteem and self image and reflect both the positive and negative aspects of each. The positive can include manifestation, realisation and prosperity - the negative could mean being possessive, greedy or overly materialistic."
